FBI STING! (And my 2010 Strategic Plan summed up in one word…)

You can’t make this stuff up…

I just witnessed an FBI sting!

I was driving up to my favorite writing spot (a local Starbucks here in Miami), but I couldn’t pull into the parking lot… Three big FBI agents in full bullet-proof vest getups were struggling with a HUGE guy in the parking lot, in what appeared to be a drug-related bust.

It didn’t stop me for long though, because I’m in my favorite spot for creating content.

Which brings me to… My 2010 Strategic Plan! I can sum up my 2010 Strategic Plan in one word:

CONTENT

More precisely, a high volume of world-class content from myself and other experts in three distinct fields (freelancing, copywriting, and information marketing). I’m reminded of this because this Starbucks is my favorite place to create content… and even an FBI sting can’t hold me back from creating great content!

I have taken a good look back at what has generated the most subscribers, turned them into customers, and produced the most fruitful, long-lasting relationships over the past year. In fact, my main tech guy looked at some of my stats and revealed something fascinating… 27% of my subscribers are paying customers!

That only happens when you put out great content, both free and paid. I’m simply taking what works and exploding it in a big way with a few strategic moves. I thought you would be interested in exactly how I’m doing that, so here in a nutshell is how I will create, distribute, and monetize content in 2010…

1) Leverage outrageous “freeline” content to generate a steady and consistent flow of high-quality prospects
Almost every time I come out with a new product, service, or website, I “lead the way” with at least one piece of outrageously good freeline content. You will see this in action soon as I reveal the strategies that helped me generate over 100,000 leads online in 2009 :-) This is not your average content… it’s gotta WOW straight off the bat!

2) Have others create “traffic magnet” content in volume
This is a different kind of content- it’s the articles, blog posts, press releases, forum posts, and more that takes a lot of time to create, and doesn’t necessarily need to be created by you. It’s search engine friendly, brings in traffic, and should be produced in volume.

3) Create a limited number of overwhelmingly valuable paid courses and training
This is how you monetize your other content.  By focusing on a limited number of paid courses, you can take the time to make them truly world class.

Here are a few more tips on actually creating the content…

- I find that starting with a mind map and recording an audio is an incredible way to create highly leveragable content. You can have the audio transcribed to create your written content, and lay it over a presentation to create video content. Then you’ve got it all!

- You can incentivize other people to create content for you… without having to pay them!  Simply offer access to your audience by publishing their content on your blog or in your newsletter.

- Set yourself up for success! Make sure you have a high quality microphone, a high-performance computer, a great place to write, or whatever it is you need to get into a high state of production.

What is YOUR 2010 strategic plan?  Let me know how I can help.
